LIVE ALUMNI WORKSHOPS — Four Weeks of Focused Painting + Individualized Support

If you’ve taken any class with me — an online course, a live workshop, a retreat, or you’re enrolled in an upcoming program — you’re invited to join this special four-week live series happening in January 2026.

These sessions are designed for painters who want a month of renewed momentum, deeper understanding, and a place to bring questions about their work. You may be refining your compositions, strengthening your color sense, exploring new mediums, or trying to develop a more personal visual language, this is a space to make tangible progress.
One thing I know from teaching for many years is that you can watch a course and understand the ideas — but applying those concepts to a real painting, in real time, is where things start to click. That’s why these live sessions exist: to help you take what you’ve learned and push it into your own work with guidance, feedback, and the accountability that comes from showing up with others.

What We’ll Cover
Over four 90-minute sessions, we’ll focus on what matters most to your growth as an abstract or semi-abstract painter:

Strengthening design + composition

Using color with intention and power

Shape systems, rhythm, balance, movement

Working through blocks or stuck paintings

Technical questions across acrylic, oil, cold wax, and mixed media

Developing a more personal, recognizable visual voice

Building momentum through weekly accountability

Supportive critique and problem-solving
You’ll also have a space to share your work between sessions so you can stay
connected, stay motivated, and build continuity in your practice.
This is not a formula or a step-by-step method. It’s a place to deepen your thinking,
sharpen your eye, and practice, practice, practice — with support.

What to Expect
1 / Before the class starts
Download the supplies list, and prepare a few surfaces so you'll be ready to jump in during the first class, You'll get an email from me about what to do.
2 / In between each class
Share you work in progress, second, third, fourth layers, any technical or composition questions on your private facebook group for feedback, Enjoy the support in between the session.
3 / Typical class format
Questions are fielded up front to keep the class targetted to what you most need
Andrea shares a slideshow to illustrate or explain a concept (i.e. color harmony, layering, shapes, lines, etc.) and to show other artists' work as a example of what we're learning.
This is followed by a Painting Prompts or an exercise to try
Andrea gives feedback and constructive help on your work
Attendees share work to the Facebook private group to help problem solve their works in progress.
Attendees receive a recording of the class.
